Support an extraordinary art project.

A visual journey:

The Eyes of David Goltz offers a unique view of the world that goes far beyond the ordinary.

This work is not just a photography book,

but a poetic narrative that reveals the hidden facets of life and interaction.

Each photograph in this monograph makes the tensions and contradictions of our existence visible and breaks through the mundane.

The art lies in seeing beyond the obvious and discovering the invisible connections between people,

places and moments.

Goltz takes us on an expedition through his artistic universe, in which each shot is a fragment of a larger narrative and breaks down the boundaries of perception. His photographs encourage us to

look at the world with new eyes and to question our understanding of reality and humanity.

It is an invitation to

see the unfamiliar as part of a larger whole.

A central concern of this project is to

build bridges in an increasingly polarized world.

The photographs act as silent but powerful mediators,

reminding us that separation always also implies connection. Without being provocative, they reveal the contradictions of the human condition and invite the viewer to engage with the subtle nuances of our existence – and ultimately to sharpen our view of what is essential.

Introduction:

The Eyes of David Goltz is a book that offers a profound meditation on our world, seen through the artist's lens.

This monograph, much more than a mere collection of photographs,

embodies a decades-long examination of the fundamental questions of existence. Goltz's work invites us to

see beyond the obvious and glimpse the unseen, transforming the essence of the moment into a philosophical reflection.

Vision:

This book is fundamentally different from conventional photography books, as it does not merely collect aesthetic images, but is rather conceived as a visual exploration of our existence.

Each shot in this book captures tensions and contradictions that break through the mundane.

The camera is not simply used here to capture moments, but serves as a means to create complex narratives that challenge our understanding of reality. Goltz creates a kind of visual poetry that not only allows the viewer to see, but also to deeply experience the subtle.

Choice of subject:

Goltz's selection of images reflects a deeper philosophical examination of the tension between movement and stillness, impermanence and permanence. In the depiction of the dusty road

and the plastic flower stand in hectic Marrakech, the transient, the artificial and the human are juxtaposed with

the calm, waiting horse, which takes on the role of the eternal observer. Goltz captures the contrast between fleeting modernity and timeless calm,

a visual language reminiscent of the philosophical ideas of momentariness and the perception of reality.

In terms of art history, this work can be classified in the tradition

of documentary photography, which focuses on the mundane and the everyday, but Goltz combines this with surreal elements, as is often found in 20th-century art.

The image of the bright red car, seemingly weightless, resting on a metal pole in the Australian outback,

draws on both surrealism and the

land art movement by placing the artificial

in pristine nature.

Goltz thus creates a connection between the

sublime of nature and the absurdity of human intervention – a reflection on the beauty and strangeness of our world.

Connections:

A defining theme of this monograph is the search for common ground in a fragmented world. Goltz shows

that the apparent boundaries that divide us are also

the lines that connect us. His photographs reveal a quiet harmony that transcends the superficial. It is a subtle yet profound inspiration that invites us to reimagine the human condition in all its complexity and beauty. It encourages us not only to look at the obvious, but also to become aware of the complexity of life.

The two worlds – the hustle and bustle of the street and the surreal expanse of the outback – seem incompatible at first glance, but in the pictures they merge into a higher truth. Each photograph is a fragment of a larger narrative, and the art lies in discovering these hidden connections.
