Vita – David Goltz
David Goltz wurde 1971 in Celle geboren und lebt und arbeitet in Hamburg und Berlin. Er studierte Kunst und Fotografie an der Minerva Art Academy in Groningen, Niederlande. Seit Ende der 1990er-Jahre ist er als Fotograf tätig. Seine Arbeit umfasst künstlerische Fotografie, Editorial- und Modefotografie sowie internationale Werbeproduktionen.
Im Mittelpunkt seiner fotografischen Praxis stehen Menschen, Orte und die Beziehungen zwischen ihnen. Ausgehend von alltäglichen Situationen, Begegnungen und räumlichen Konstellationen entwickelt Goltz eine Bildsprache, die dokumentarische Beobachtung mit bewusster Komposition verbindet. Sein Interesse gilt den beiläufigen Momenten ebenso wie den sichtbaren und unsichtbaren Spuren gesellschaftlicher Wirklichkeit.
Fotografische Praxis und internationale Projekte
David Goltz arbeitet für nationale und internationale Magazine, Marken, Agenturen, Unternehmen und kulturelle Institutionen. Sein Portfolio umfasst Porträts, Modeeditorials, Werbekampagnen und eigenständige fotografische Serien. Die Zusammenarbeit mit Redaktionen, Art Directors und kreativen Teams prägt seine berufliche Praxis, ohne den eigenständigen fotografischen Blick in den Hintergrund treten zu lassen.

Mit dem Fotobuchprojekt The Eyes of David Goltz führt Goltz seine über viele Jahre entwickelte fotografische Arbeit in einer eigenständigen Publikation zusammen. Das Buch versteht sich nicht allein als Sammlung einzelner Bilder, sondern als visuelle Auseinandersetzung mit Beobachtung, Zeit und Erinnerung sowie mit den Beziehungen zwischen Menschen und ihren Lebensräumen.
Die Veröffentlichung des Buches ist für 2026/2027 vorgesehen. Begleitend ist eine Ausstellung in Palma de Mallorca und Hamburg geplant.
Biography – David Goltz
David Goltz was born in Celle, Germany, in 1971 and lives and works in Hamburg and Berlin. He studied art and photography at the Minerva Art Academy in Groningen, the Netherlands. Active as a photographer since the late 1990s, his practice encompasses fine art photography, editorial and fashion photography, and international advertising productions.
At the centre of his photographic practice are people, places, and the relationships between them. Drawing on everyday situations, encounters, and spatial environments, Goltz has developed a visual language that combines documentary observation with considered composition. His interest extends from fleeting, seemingly incidental moments to the visible and less apparent traces of social reality.
Photographic Practice and International Projects
David Goltz works with national and international magazines, brands, agencies, companies, and cultural institutions. His portfolio includes portraits, fashion editorials, advertising campaigns, and independent photographic series.
